Passing of Keith Collins & Bob Moore

  • Post category:News

Keith “Killer” Collins died early last month in Southend Hospital, after a long illness.   Keith was an enthusiastic and powerful second row forward, playing mainly for the Lions and the A XV’s encompassing the sixties and seventies when the club was based in the London Road.   He was a strong supporter of the Old Westcliffian Association, and a very well-liked man, his courtesy title being rather tongue in cheek as he was of a gentle and kind disposition.

Lynda, Robert and Bob Moore (7 PARA RHA retd)

Bob Moore died last night, after a short illness.   A local fireman, Bob was a great club servant at Aviation Way over a couple of decades, and a regular front row forward for the lower senior sides, captaining the Extra A on many occasions and assisting wholeheartedly with club affairs off the pitch.  He was a big familyman, wife Lynda, son Robert and daughters Liz and Vicky, and he always had time for his friends.  Known for his razor sharp wit, general knowledge, stubborrnness and moaning. He will be sorely missed.

Our sympathies are extended to both families and we salute two fine club servants, both taken before their time.
