Westcliff Rugby Football Club, have just won promotion to the 4th tier of English Rugby – National League Division 2 South, the first time in the clubs history.
This role would ideally suit a person currently or has been playing at National League or higher who is looking for a stepping stone in to coaching, or taking next step in their coaching journey and can drive a club forward with its continued vision to compete at highest level possible whilst keeping the club long term ethos .
Candidates will preferably hold Level 2 and would potentially be looking to progress to Level 3 while gaining the relevant experience.
Applicants seeking an initial Player/Coach role would be especially welcome.
Key Responsibilities will be:
Prepare, select, and supervise the senior squad for Saturdays with coaching team
Mid-week training sessions for senior squad players
Develop and execute Pre – Season Plan
Work with DoR and Rugby committee with player recruitment and retention
Our playing strength is 95+% home-grown, so ensuring that our players continue to come through is vital
Report monthly to the Club’s Rugby Committee.

A good communicator and leader who is inclusive and embodies the ethos of the club
Played/still plays rugby at a high level
Player Centred – able to get the best out of individuals and create an environment for them to succeed
Commitment to development of young players including transition from junior to senior rugby
