Presidents Thoughts:
Westcliff 1st XV travelled to Stowmarket on Saturday expecting a competitive game and they weren’t disappointed. The squad was rotated by the coaching team and both George Maloney and Greg Bannister made their first appearances of the season. A sharp opening try by Joe Gutteridge was followed by a sharp finish from No 8 Luke Everitt and a well earned try by hooker Finn McIntyre.
The final score of 41 to 8 was a fine away win for the maroon & gold which leaves the coaching team with a selection headache for the next game which is at home to the highly rated Harlow XV on the 12th October.
